The Geneva Chamber is pleased to announce that Geneva Chamber member Wasco Nursery & Garden Center in St. Charles will be planting a new Christmas tree on Tuesday, Aug. 13 on the north side of the Kane County Courthouse front lawn located in downtown Geneva. The hole will be opened around 8 a.m. and the tree will be installed around 11 a.m.
Several bad weather situations in late fall 2018 and early winter 2019 caused great damage to the 50-foot Christmas tree that had been there since the 1980s. For safety reasons, the tree had to be removed.
“Thanks to generous donors, we are thrilled that a new Christmas tree will soon be planted. We look forward to watching this 20-foot tree grow to be even taller than its predecessor. To add to the inaugural lighting of this tree on Dec. 6, the Chamber has some surprises up their holiday sleeves,” says Laura Rush, Communications Manager for Geneva Chamber of Commerce.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place in the near future.
