With the turn of the calendar to May, the City has three new shows hitting the air this month on Geneva Broadcast Network.

Take a tour of Geneva’s newest brewery, Penrose Brewing Company, as part of “Business Beat,” which airs at 5:30 and 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 and 10:30 p.m. daily.

Mayor Kevin Burns takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes experience with Penrose owner Eric Hobbs, a Geneva High School graduate, who was happy to come home to start up his new business. After opening in March, the company has already proven quite popular in the Geneva community serving up its unique beers and ales in their taproom.

Viewers can get insight on what issues are on the hot burner of City Council by watching “Officially Speaking.” Third Ward Alderman Dean Kilburg shares his viewpoints on the City’s 2014-15 budget, home rule, development opportunities and more.

With spring officially arriving, so too has building season. “Geneva Works” sits down with Community Development Director Dick Untch to talk about his department oversees everything from building permits, residential & commercial development, and long-term planning.

“Geneva Works” can be seen at 6:30 a.m. and p.m. daily.

“Officially Speaking” and “Geneva Works” are new programming additions to Geneva Broadcast Network this year to provide residents with an inside look at how their local government is working for the community.
