The Geneva Fire and Police departments responded to a report at 10:53 p.m. May 19 of a person “jumping” from the Union Pacific Railway trestle into the Fox River to avoid being struck by an oncoming train.
The original emergency call was made from a Metra train representative. Firefighters proceeded to search the Fox River, and police officers checked the river banks for the individual. After completing a thorough search of the area for two hours, no victim was located.
