[ARCHIVED] No Injuries Reported In Pinto Court House Fire

Nobody was injured during a house fire that took place at 1:26 a.m. Aug. 27 at 1437 Pinto Court in the Eagle Brook Subdivision.

The Geneva Fire Department responded to the scene after a neighbor on Fargo Boulevard called 911 when smelling smoke and seeing flames coming out of the home.

First arriving units found the first and second floors of the home burning and flames coming through the roof. The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes after the initiation of suppression efforts. While a damage estimate has not been set, the structure suffered significant fire and water damage. The cause of the fire has not been determined, and the investigation is continuing.

The homeowners, Stuart and Stephanie Girgins, were not home at the time of the incident.

Assistance was provided by Batavia, Elburn, St. Charles, West Chicago, Fermi Lab and North Aurora. The South Elgin and Winfield Fire Departments provided apparatus and manpower to staff both of Geneva’s fire stations during the incident.

Traffic control, site security, and the preliminary investigation were provided by the Geneva Police Department and Geneva Emergency Management Agency.
