While the roadway was reopened this afternoon, the repair did not hold. Geneva Public Works crews returned around 4:30 p.m. May 10 to resume work on Route 25 north of State Street. Operations were ongoing at 7:30 p.m., according to Public Works. The same lane closure, as outlined below, remains in place. The City is hoping to restore water service to impacted customers and reopen all lanes on Route 25 later this evening.
The Geneva Public Works Department is repairing a water main break May 10 that requires closing the southbound lane of Bennett Street (Route 25) from State Street (Route 38) to Wall Street on the City's east side.Southbound traffic is being shifted into the turn lane, but motorists should expect delays and may want to seek alternate routes.
