Construction crews resumed installing water service July 20 for a new restaurant that is requiring temporary lane closures on West State Street.Closures are needed on both the eastbound and westbound lanes, along with several parking spaces, on State Street just west of Route 31. The project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, July 29, weather permitting. All traffic lanes will be reopened temporarily over the July 23-24 weekend before work restarts the week of July 25.
Earlier this month, the contractor had difficulty locating the storm and sanitary sewer on State Street which resulted in delays.
A block of westbound State Street (Route 38) in downtown Geneva will be reduced to one lane the week of July 11 as a contractor installs new water service for the future BASH (Burger and Sushi House) restaurant.The outside lane and several parking spaces will be closed on State Street just west of Route 31. The project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, July 15, weather permitting. Both lanes of eastbound traffic will remain open.Signage will be installed on the Fox River bridge notifying motorists of the lane closure.
