[ARCHIVED] City Of Geneva Expands Social Media Presence With YouTube, Instagram Accounts

Geneva continues to look for new ways to connect with residents, merchants and other community stakeholders with an expanded social media lineup that now includes YouTube and Instagram.

People can watch current shows airing on Geneva Broadcast Network as well as On Demand programming on the City’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/CityofGeneva. The City has shifted its On Demand library to YouTube to provide a more convenient viewing experience no matter what computer or mobile device is being used.

Programming available on the City’s channel includes:

• “Business Beat” – Take a tour with Mayor Kevin Burns as he visits local businesses to see what makes them unique to Geneva;
• “Officially Speaking” – Find out what is taking place at City Hall as we interview City Council members and representatives from our volunteer advisory boards;
• “Geneva Works” – Learn about the operations of various City departments and what services they offer to the community; and
• City Council & Committee of the Whole Meetings

Viewers also can subscribe to the City’s YouTube page to be notified when new videos are posted.

The City launched its Instagram account to showcase Geneva’s fantastic festivals, events, beautiful community backdrop and the many activities to do throughout the year. People can find the City on Instagram by searching our handle @CityofGenevaIL or at www.instagram.com/CityofGenevaIL.

Instagram also allows residents to submit their photos to the City, which are then shared with our fans on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and posted on our website.

Residents who have a public Instagram profile can share their photos simply by tagging the City in their pictures or mentioning our handle in a post or comment. If the Instagram account is set to private, photos can be sent to the City through the “Instagram Direct” feature.
