The Geneva Public Works Department will be installing a water valve and a fire hydrant the week of March 20 on Third Street south of the Union Pacific-West train tracks which will require lane closures.
Both southbound lanes on Third Street will be shut down to traffic starting at 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 20 from the tracks to Cheever Avenue. A temporary traffic pattern will have southbound Third Street traffic crossing the tracks shift over into the northbound turn lane. Work will take place during daytime hours, and all lanes of traffic will be reopened late afternoon prior to the evening rush hour. The lane closures will be reimplemented the following day until the project is anticipated to be completed Thursday, March 23.
