A City contractor will begin demolishing a farmhouse Wednesday, March 22 at 64 Peck Road on Geneva's west side.
The home and property were purchased by the City, and the wood frame, single-family house has previously been used for public safety training sessions. The Geneva City Council approved the contract March 20 with Fowler Enterprises to perform the demolition.
The home should be knocked down in one day, and the overall project should be finished by the end of March. Following demolition, the contractor will haul away debris, remove the home's foundation and sidewalks, and backfill the hole.
All lanes of Peck Road are expected to remain open during the demo process.
