The Kane County Division of Transportation plans to resurface stretches of Randall Road and Fabyan Parkway in Geneva starting this summer.
The projects include resurfacing:
- Randall Road from Main Street in Batavia to Keslinger Road in Geneva; and
- Fabyan Parkway west of Randall Road to Western Avenue.
The County is anticipating completing resurfacing Fabyan Parkway from Main Street to just west of Randall Road by late July.
Operations are scheduled to mobilize to Randall Road during the week of July 24 with one week of curb and gutter projects taking place during daytime hours. A majority of the construction will occur overnight beginning that same week. Pavement milling will begin at Main Street in Batavia and progress north to Keslinger Road in Geneva.
Once construction reaches Fabyan Parkway, milling work will get underway on Fabyan from Randall Road to Western Avenue.
Work is primarily taking place overnight to minimize the impact on the community, according to Kane County. Motorists can expect lane closures will be implemented from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Traffic lanes will temporarily reopen during daytime hours, but the highways will be in various states of construction for the next few months. Work is scheduled to be finished by late September or early October, weather permitting.
