[ARCHIVED] Kane County Hosting Free Recycling Event Dec. 13

With a big crowd expected, people are encouraged to arrive early at the Kane County Recycles Event from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 540 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

Recycle electronics such as Christmas lights, computers, keyboards, laptops, printers, televisions (any size or age), stereos, cell phones, microwaves, and more. Crews will unload your vehicle. A complete list of accepted items, and more information can be found at the link below under “Electronics Recycling.”

Books of any age or condition will be recycled and documents will be shredded onsite. Limit is four boxes or paper bags of documents. Remove any plastic or metal bindings and binder clips, but it is okay to leave in envelope windows, staples, & paper clips. The document shredding is for residents only, not businesses. More guidelines can be found at the link below under “Document Shredding.” Please note that while the county has the capacity to receive 25,000 pounds of documents, they must cease once the trucks are full. First come, first served.

Crews do not accept hazardous waste or large household appliances like washers and refrigerators.
