The Geneva Police Department was contacted by Halifax Regional Police Department (Canada) Feb. 13 in reference to assisting with an ongoing investigation.

The investigation involved a 23-year old Geneva resident possibly being involved in a “potential significant weapons-related threat.” The Geneva Police Department has assisted in whatever manner possible.

Prior to this incident, the Geneva Police Department had not had any contact with this subject. The Halifax Police Department, by policy, has chosen not to release the subject’s name. Due to being another department’s jurisdiction and an ongoing investigation, the Geneva Police Department has no other information available at this time.
