[ARCHIVED] ComEd To Trim Trees This Summer In Geneva

Comed Tree Trimming

ComEd will be trimming trees in several locations in Geneva this summer.

Trimming operations are scheduled to occur from mid-July to October in the following areas:

  • Kirk Road north of Fabyan Parkway;
  • Route 38 east of Kirk Road; and
  • Kirk Road north of Route 38.

While the City of Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, ComEd power lines feed the City’s substations. Geneva interconnects with ComEd to allow the City to receive energy purchased from its regional service transmission provider, PJM.

ComEd states its vegetation management program helps ensure electrical reliability since tree branch contact with power lines is a leading cause of outages.

ComEd will notify affected residents about tree trimming taking place in their neighborhood. Visit the ComEd tree trimming web page for a project map and more information.
