Walsh Construction crews will be busy this week installing a trench drain and painting the Third Street Commuter Parking Deck in downtown Geneva.
The deck's Second Street entrance will be closed for five to seven days starting April 9 as workers install a trench drain. Commuters will still be able to access the facility from Third Street. Crews will be restoring the pavement around the drain with concrete, which needs time to cure.
Walsh has been directed to post advance signage at the intersection of South and Second streets to warn drivers of the entrance closure. Signage also will be provided in the garage and work site.
The entire deck is anticipated to be closed for painting Saturday and Sunday, April 11 and 12, weather permitting.
The new third tier expansion level of the parking deck is scheduled to open in late spring. For more construction information, visit the City's Parking Deck Webpage below.
