The Kirkland Fire Department is acting as the drop off center for all donations for the folks affected by last night’s tornado in Fairdale. The address is 3891 State Rt. 72, Kirkland, IL 60146.
They are looking for the following donations: Work Gloves; flashlights; heavy duty garbage bags; cleaning supplies; laundry supplies; first aid kits (in Ziploc bags if possible);pet food; Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve; hand sanitizer; toiletries; baby clothes; batteries (AA,D), baby formula, plastic silverware, non-perishable items, pack and plays, gently used car seats.
They no longer need any further donations of blankets, towels, wash cloths, water. Paws Humane Society is bringing a van with 21 cages for any lost/missing pets so they can be housed until they are able to be reunited with their owners.
An official Go Fund Me account is currently being established at Alpine Bank in Kirkland called Fairdale Relief Fund for anyone looking to make monetary donations. Additional information will be posted when the account is established. Additional information for anyone looking to volunteer will be posted when the Fire Department has ceased with their Search and Rescue efforts.
