The second phase of Kane County's annual resurfacing program is scheduled to begin the week of Aug. 11, and will include a portion of Kirk Road that runs through Geneva.
The county is planning on replacing the curb and gutters on Kirk Road from Hill Road in Geneva to Lakeside Court/Illinois Avenue in St. Charles. The work also will include resurfacing the county highway's shoulders.
Construction will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and may include temporary lane closures with flaggers for safety.
The overall Kane County resurfacing program, which has four project areas, is expected to be completed in four months, weather permitting.
