As the Geneva City Council bid a fond farewell to two longtime members, two new aldermen officially took their seats on May 4.
First Ward Alderman Chuck Brown (24 years) and 4th Ward Alderman Dorothy Flanagan (22 years) were recognized for their decades of service to the community. Both chose not to seek another term in office during the April consolidated election.
You can watch their remarks - and plenty of thank yous from their fellow City Council members - at the link below.
Newly elected Aldermen Tara Burghart (1st Ward) and Jim Radecki (4th Ward) took the Oath of Office with their families present May 4. Other incumbents that won uncontested races in April that were sworn in include Don Cummings, 2nd Ward; Dean Kilburg and Mary Seno; 3rd Ward; Craig Maladra and Tom Simonian; 5th Ward.
