The Geneva Public Works Department will be replacing underground water services Thursday, Aug. 21, along a stretch of West State Street (Route 38).

The project will require the City to close both westbound lanes om McKinley to Lincoln Avenues. The eastbound lanes will have a temporary traffic pattern to accommodate one lane of traffic in each direction during construction. Motorists may want to consider using alternate routes and should use caution if they drive through the work zone.

Crews will not start work until after 9 a.m. when students have already arrived in class for their first day of school at Geneva Community Unit School District 304. The City is hoping to have the project finished before school concludes for the day.
