ComEd announced crews will be trimming trees near electric lines beginning as early as mid-October on the west side of Geneva.
Trimming operations are scheduled to occur in the following areas:
- Western Avenue
- Dunstan Road
- South Street
- Keslinger Road
While the City of Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, ComEd power lines feed City substations. Geneva interconnects with ComEd to allow the City to receive energy purchased from its regional service transmission provider, PJM.
ComEd states its vegetation management program helps ensure electrical reliability since tree branch contact with power lines is a leading cause of outages.
The company will notify affected residents about tree trimming taking place in their neighborhood. Visit the ComEd tree trimming web page for a project map and more information.
