The City of Geneva Development Projects Map has been updated with details about the Jan. 12 special City Council meeting regarding the appeal of the 4 E. State St. Historic Landmark Demolition request.

A reversal or modification of the Historic Preservation Commission’s (HPC) determination requires not less than two-thirds of the alderpersons holding office (seven votes). At the City Council meeting, six alderpersons voted in favor of overturning the HPC, and four voted to uphold the HPC's decision.

As such, the appeal failed, and the demolition request was denied.
