The Geneva Film Festival is featuring its best family-friendly short films from its first eight seasons during a special Winter Sampler event Saturday, Jan. 9 at the Geneva Park District’s Playhouse 38, 524 W. State St.
The Winter Sampler is broken down into two viewing blocks at 1 and 4 p.m. with each session showing award-winning films that are suitable for all ages. A special guest filmmaker will be on hand to discuss his/her production and answer questions. Refreshments also are available for purchase.
Tickets are $5 per person for a block showing and can be purchased online at the link below.
The Winter Sampler serves as a lead in to the popular Geneva Film Festival, which will be held Thursday to Saturday, March 10 to 12 in downtown Geneva. Started by the City’s Cultural Arts Commission in 2007, the festival’s mission is to celebrate the art of filmmaking by setting the stage for independent producers and directors to showcase their talent.
