[ARCHIVED] Geneva Lowers Flags, Supports Orlando Following Tragedy

The U.S., State and City flags will fly at half-staff outside Geneva's municipal buildings to honor the lives lost in Orlando, Fla. this past weekend.

In the wake of America’s most deadly mass-shooting in history, Geneva stands with the victims’ families, the City of Orlando, Fla. and the LGBT community.

"We echo your sentiments that we will not be defined by the act of a cowardly hater. We will be defined by how we respond and how we treat each other," Mayor Kevin Burns said. "Geneva pledges to treat everyone, regardless of race, gender, religion and sexual orientation as our neighbors and our partners in vanquishing hatred by sewing peace."
