The Kane County Division of Transportation will be conducting bridge inspections on Kirk Road over the Union Pacific railroad tracks in Geneva on Thursday and Friday, April 20 and 21, weather permitting.
The work will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Cherry Lane to State Street. Traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction to allow inspectors access to the roadway.
Motorists should expect delays while traveling through the work zone and may want to factor additional time to their commutes. Drivers must reduce their speed, watch for workers and vehicles entering or leaving the site, as well as obey flaggers and other traffic control devices within the work zone. Please consider the use of alternate routes while this work is being completed.
A reminder: it is illegal for drivers to talk on a cell phone while driving through a highway construction work zone.
