Curious to learn how the Geneva Police officers do their job? Geneva residents and local merchants are invited to be part of the inaugural Citizen Police Academy in 2018.
The weekly classes will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday nights from Jan. 11 through March 22. The program was created to give residents an overview and insight into the department along with a behind-the-scenes look at police operations.
Citizen Police Academy participants must be 21 years or older and reside or work within the City of Geneva.
Applications for the academy are available on the City’s website or at the Geneva Police Department. The program is free, but space is limited.
Completed applications can be mailed to the Geneva Police Department, Attn: Sgt. Bradley Jerdee, 20 Police Plaza, Geneva, IL 60134. The deadline has been extended until 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8.
