The City of Geneva will be replacing a water main along with lead/galvanized water services on Anderson Boulevard from State Street (Route 38) to Gray Street (larger map version). Construction is tentatively planned for late summer or early fall 2025, but the schedule needs to be finalized.
Before the project gets underway, the City will be reaching out to Anderson Boulevard property owners to notify them of the upcoming construction, which will replace water services with copper pipe from the water main to the water meter at no cost to the customer. To obtain the best project bids possible from contractors, the City seeks to include information on the water service location in the basement of each impacted property. Details on whether the basement is finished and other information may help with bidding and construction.
City employees and the City's engineering firm, Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick (HLR), will be knocking on doors inquiring about this information. Residents preferring to set up an appointment can call the City's Public Works Department Water Division at 630-232-1551 or email Water Division Superintendent Bob Van Gyseghem.
Since the water service from the buffalo box (b-box) in the parkway to the water meter is on private property, a temporary construction easement is required.
The City does not have a construction start date, as it is awaiting confirmation of a loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Once confirmation is received, additional information will be distributed to property owners, including dates for public information meetings.
