Powering Up

"Power
Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, and we take great pride in providing reliable electric service to our residents and businesses. However, like all utilities, we are susceptible to outages caused by bad weather, animals, equipment issues and more. This blog is designed to provide updates on what caused outages after service has been restored. Large-scale incidents will be posted in real-time on the City's Alert Center on our website homepage. Customers can subscribe to receive these updates via Notify Me.

The original item was published from October 6, 2025 4:00 PM to October 6, 2025 4:05 PM

Thriller on 38 promises to bring a zombie-tastic dance performance to downtown Geneva Saturday, Oct. 11.

Jamie is the creative, hardworking, and driven owner of Vargo Dance, and we cannot wait to watch as she brings her vision for Thriller on 38 to life for the eighth year.

This year is extra special — it’s the first time Jamie has received a Destination Geneva grant from the City of Geneva.

Catch Thriller on 38 with two free performances:

  • When: 7:30 and 8:15 p.m. Oct. 11
  • Where: The back parking lot behind Vargo’s Dance Studio, Second and Hamilton streets

Jamie’s only ask? Show some local love by grabbing dinner, drinks, or dessert at Geneva's local restaurants, wineries, and breweries before or after the show. Food trucks also will be on site at the event.

Let’s celebrate our amazing small-business community, creativity, and all things fall fun together.
