[ARCHIVED] Division Street Water Main Replacement - Oct. 17 Update

The original item was published from October 17, 2025 3:07 PM to December 1, 2025 12:00 AM

The City of Geneva is replacing a water main on Division Street this fall, with the construction zone spanning from Route 25 to East Side Drive. Division Street will remain open for local traffic only. A detour route has been established directing motorists into St. Charles.

Oct. 17 Update

During the past several weeks, the contractor has been installing the new water main infrastructure on the south side of Division Street. After a successful water pressure test was conducted Oct. 17, the water main will be chlorinated the week of Oct. 20. The contractor intends to wait for confirmation from the EPA before proceeding with any other work. Residents may notice less construction activity on Division Street the week of Oct. 20 outside of chlorine sampling.

After EPA approval has been obtained, the contractor will submit for an operations permit to connect Division Street homes to the new water main. Residents will receive advance notification about these water connections, which will temporarily disrupt water service to their homes for a few hours.
