The City's contractor, Geneva Construction, will be working on eight road resurfacing and drainage projects as part of the Geneva 2024 street program. Work began in mid-August and is expected to be completed in November, weather permitting. A map and project locations can be found online.

Aug. 16 Update

After concrete saw cutting started along East Side Drive this week, construction crews are planning to remove and replace the eastern sidewalk the week of Aug. 19. The following week, the City expects similar work will take place with the eastern curb on East Side Drive.

The City is removing the sidewalks one side at a time and will provide signage and crossing guards as necessary to safely convey students to Harrison Street School.

Crews will then transition to the sidewalks on the west side of East Side Drive later this month or in early September. By that point, the new sidewalk along the east side should have stabilized and be safe to travel. The City is planning to have at least one open sidewalk available to pedestrians throughout construction. Sidewalk improvements have already been finished at the East Side Drive and Dodson Street intersection near the school.

Strom drainage construction will continue next week in the Maple Court and Scott Boulevard area.

A late addition to the schedule: The contractor plans to patch Ford Street and Lincoln Avenue just south of Geneva High School starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19.

All road construction is weather-permitting and subject to change.
