The City's contractor, Geneva Construction, will be working on eight road resurfacing and drainage projects as part of the Geneva 2024 street program. Work began in mid-August and is expected to be completed in November, weather permitting. A map and project locations can be found online.
Aug. 27 Update
The contractor is expecting to pour concrete for a new sidewalk Wednesday, Aug. 28 on the east side of East Side Drive. The new surface will need several days to cure before being reopened to the public.
After the Labor Day holiday, crews will then begin work on the eastern curb along East Side Drive. Once that is finished, construction operations will then transition over to replace the sidewalk and curbs on the western side of East Side Drive.
Underground storm drainage work is scheduled to take place this week on East Side Drive between the Illinois Prairie Path and City of Geneva electric substation.
All road construction is weather-permitting and subject to change.
