The McHenry County SWAT team will conduct police training Friday, Nov. 1 at a home in the 700 block of Fargo Boulevard in Geneva.
The training will focus on potential responses to emergency situations where officers are dealing with an armed person. The training is not expected to disrupt the neighborhood; however, police officers plan on using simunition rounds (similar to paintballs) to simulate a violent threat. The training will bring a number of police vehicles to the area, but no vehicle sirens will be activated. Live weapons will not be fired.
Signage will be posted in the residence's driveway, and safety officers will be on-site during the day.
