Ride In Kane will implement a fare increase starting in February to continue delivering services to senior citizens and disabled residents.
Trips exceeding 10 miles will be billed at $2 per mile beginning Saturday, Feb. 1. The base fare of $5 for each trip made for the first 10 miles will remain the same.
Since its debut in 2008, Ride In Kane has offered paratransit curb-to-curb transportation for seniors age 65+ and disabled individuals living in Kane County. Rides are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day within Kane County. The City of Geneva administers the program for residents living in the City’s corporate limits (see the City’s ward map).
Qualified individuals must first register for the program by completing an application form, which requires submitting documents online. Full Ride In Kane registration and program details can be found on the City’s website.
