Geneva Construction, a City contractor, will be working on the 2025 Street Program, which includes resurfacing 19 residential roadways in the community. Additional improvements involve pavement patching on Third Street, reconstruction of the Hamilton Street parking lot, reconfiguration of James Street parking, updated pavement markings, and drainage repairs. A project map and list of locations are available online.
July 25 Update
Hamilton Street Parking Lot
Resurfacing operations were expected to be completed by the end of this week along River Lane, Hamilton Street and the parking lot on the southwest corner of the intersection.
Pavement Striping
Pavement striping got underway July 25 with the James Street parking reconfiguration on the north side of the roadway from First to Second streets. Striping also is planned for the Hamilton Street lot and other roadways that were recently resurfaced as part of this year's Street Program. When pavement striping does occur, motorists can expect temporary lane closures for application and for the paint to dry.
Miscellaneous Work
While a majority of the roadways are nearing completion, the contractor will be performing miscellaneous concrete/asphalt patching and sidewalk replacements in various sections of Geneva.
Crews also will be finishing punch list items and parkway restoration projects in the coming weeks. The City is expecting the entire 2025 Street Program to be wrapped up by mid-August.
All schedules are subject to change due to weather or other factors.
