[ARCHIVED] Nicor To Clear Vegetation Near Utility Easement

Work In Progress Under Construction

Starting in November, Nicor Gas and its contractors will start clearing vegetation near its natural gas line utility easement on the west side of Geneva.

The right-of-way easement runs north-south in between Randall and Peck roads. Nicor plans to be working in two general areas, including:

  • Map Area 1: North of Fabyan Parkway to Kaneville Road; the easement is located just west of the Geneva middle school campus.
  • Map Area 2: North of Keslinger Road to an area between Heartland Drive and Husking Peg Lane; the easement is located east of Chapelstreet Church.

Nicor said the work is being done to provide the company safe access to its natural gas pipeline for inspections and repairs. The maintenance work will involve survey work, staking, the removal of obstructions and vegetation management to provide 30 feet of clearance on either side of the line.

Nicor has notified adjacent residents of the upcoming project and to remove any potential obstructions. For more information, contact Nicor Asset Protection Manager Stan Jones by calling 224-806-1686 or sending him an email, or project manager Amanda Butera at 224-376-9599.
