Council Chambers

Want to make a difference in your community but not sure where to start? The City of Geneva is looking for a dedicated volunteer to fill a vacancy on its Ethics Commission.

Upon receipt of a written complaint alleging an ethics violation, the commission is tasked with investigating, conducting hearings and deliberations, and issuing recommendations for disciplinary actions. Meetings are held as warranted.

Residents interested in serving on this advisory board should submit an application along with a letter of interest by Friday, Feb. 4 to Mayor Kevin Burns, Geneva City Hall, 22 S. First St., Geneva, IL 60134. The envelope should include a reference to the Ethics Commission.

Candidates must be a resident of Geneva and may not be related (by blood or marriage) up to the degree of a first cousin to any elected officer or employee with the City of Geneva.

Mayor Burns will review all the applications and bring forward a nomination to the City Council.
