[ARCHIVED] Kane County To Host Shredding, Paint Collection Event

Paper Shredding

Are old cans of paint and boxes of documents taking up space in your home, garage or basement? Get a jump start on spring cleaning and bring your confidential documents and cans of paint to Kane County’s shredding and paint collection event on Saturday, May 14.

The event will be held rain or shine from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Kane County Branch Court office, 540 S. Randall Road, St. Charles, across from the Kane County Fairgrounds. Shredding is free and is restricted to residential purposes. There is a limit of four banker size boxes per household. The event is for Kane County residents only (proof of residency required) and will end early if the trucks are completely filled.

Visit Kane County's website for event guidelines and directions on how to prepare documents for shredding.

This recycling event will only collect latex paint and aerosol items, in addition to shredding confidential documents. There is a per-item fee to recycle latex paint, aerosol items, and other canisters. Cash and debit/credit cards are accepted. Correct change is appreciated. Visit Kane County's website for costs and additional information about accepted items.

For more information, contact Kane County Recycling Coordinator Clair Ryan by phone at 630-208-3841 or via email.
