[ARCHIVED] Third Street To Be Closed, Parking Restrictions Implemented For Geneva Arts Fair

Art Fair 1

With thousands of visitors expected to attend the Geneva Arts Fair later this month, the Geneva Police Department announced a section of South Third Street will be closed during the festival.

The Arts Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 23-24 in downtown Geneva. To accommodate the event, parking on Third Street from James to South streets will be prohibited after 3 p.m. Friday, July 22, and traffic in both directions will be closed to traffic to allow artists to set up their tents.

“No Parking” signage will be posted during the morning July 22 to notify downtown visitors of the festival restrictions. If vehicles remain on South Third Street after 3 p.m., the Police Department will have them towed from the downtown.

The primary Arts Fair detour routes are Second Street or Route 31.

South Third Street is expected to be reopened to motorists by 8:30 p.m. July 24.
