[ARCHIVED] City Hosting Onsite Meeting For Britta Alley Improvement Project

City Road Construction

Geneva residents living near the Britta Lane alley are invited to an onsite meeting to discuss the construction project and the impact to refuse pickup in the coming weeks.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 at approximately the midpoint of the alley near 1000 Geneva Drive. The alley can be accessed from Manchester Course and serves residents living on the north side of Britta Lane and the south side of Geneva Drive. The City notified residents about the meeting with an Aug. 23 letter.

The project will feature the removal and replacement of deteriorated sections of the concrete pavement. Saw cutting of the pavement began Aug. 23 and will continue for the rest of the week. Pavement removal and replacement will begin on Monday, Aug. 29 and should be completed by Tuesday, Sept. 7, weather permitting. After the new concrete surface is poured, the surface will need a minimum of seven days to cure before garbage trucks can access the alley again.

Residents that are impacted by this construction are asked to:

  • Have all garbage and recycling set out in the alley by 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 and Sept. 1 for an early pick-up; and
  • Place garbage and recycling in front of their homes on the street Thursday, Sept. 8 and Sept. 15 on your scheduled pick-up day.
