The City is working with Geneva Construction on 14 road resurfacing and drainage projects included in the 2022 street improvement program, which started in late July and is expected to be completed in October. Here is the Sept. 2 update:
Alley South of Geneva Drive
Removing and replacing the concrete patching will be finished Sept. 2 after rain earlier in the week delayed the project.
Garbage Reminder
Residents that back up to this alley will be allowed back in their garage starting Tuesday, Sept. 6. No large delivery trucks or garbage trucks will be permitted in the alley until Friday, Sept. 9. People should place their garbage back in the alley as usual on their next scheduled pickup, which is Sept. 9 (one day later than usual due to the holiday).
Alley South of Britta Lane
Pavement removal in this alley will start at 7 a.m. Sept. 6. Impacted residents should remove their cars from their garages before construction begins.
Garbage Reminder
Residents should put their garbage curbside in front of their homes on their next scheduled pickup Sept. 9 (one day later than usual due to the holiday) and the two subsequent weeks on Thursday, Sept. 15 and 22.
Viking Drive & Kaneville Road
Asphalt surface removal starts on Sept. 6 after middle school children have been dropped off at school that morning. Paving is tentatively set to begin Thursday, Sept. 8.
Redwing Drive & Heather Road
Curb and sidewalk removal are scheduled to get underway Sept. 8 or 9.
As a reminder, the construction timeline outlined is weather permitting.
