Geneva Construction, a City contractor, will be working on the 2025 Street Program, which includes resurfacing 19 residential roadways in the community. Additional improvements involve pavement patching on Third Street, reconstruction of the Hamilton Street parking lot, reconfiguration of James Street parking, updated pavement markings, and drainage repairs. July 3 Update

James Street Parking Reconfiguration

The driveway behind Geneva City Hall was scheduled to reopen July 3. Construction activity still will be occurring in the area as part of a project to reconfigure parking spaces on James Street from First (Route 31) to Second streets.

Crews will be pouring new concrete for a sidewalk in front of the old library building. Construction will continue the week of July 7 with the roadway being partially closed during normal work hours.

Motorists should use caution when driving through the work zone.

Lewis Road

Resurfacing of Lewis Road, including adjacent cul-de-sacs, is anticipated to be finished July 3. Once construction is finished, on-street parking can resume in the area. The City is waiting on a schedule for pavement markings to be applied.

Hamilton Street Parking Lot

Reconstruction of the parking lot on the southwest corner of Hamilton Street and North River Lane continues, along with sidewalk replacement in the area. This project is scheduled to be finished in late July or early August.

The City will attempt to limit the disruption, but there will be periods when half the parking lot will be inaccessible due to construction.

Other Projects

Milling work and patching on Northampton Drive was expected to be finished July 3. Paving operations should start the week of July 7.
