A City contractor will inspect Geneva's 2,138 wood utility poles beginning Tuesday, Nov. 11.

Osmose crews will conduct sound and boring tests and will identify communication attachments on each pole. The inspections will not disrupt electric service.

Crew members, who will be working from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, will be wearing reflective vests with the company logo on the back. Company trucks also will be marked.

The pole inspection project is expected to be completed in four to five weeks, weather permitting.
