Want to make a difference in your community but not sure where to start? The City of Geneva is looking for a dedicated volunteer to fill a vacancy on the Planning & Zoning Commission.
The Planning & Zoning Commission is a citizens' advisory group that makes recommendations to the City Council on a broad range of Geneva planning and zoning issues. The mission of the commission is to ensure the City's plans, goals, policies, land use ordinances, and regulations are promoting orderly and coordinated growth and development within Geneva. The commission typically meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.
Residents interested in serving on the commission should submit an application along with a letter of interest to Mayor Kevin Burns, Geneva City Hall, 22 S. First St., Geneva, IL 60134. The envelope should include a reference to the Planning & Zoning Commission. The application deadline is 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16.
Candidates must be residents living within the City's corporate boundary limits (see the City's Ward Map).
