The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be making ADA pedestrian improvements at two State Street (Route 38) intersections in Geneva beginning in February.
The IDOT project will include the installation of accessible pedestrian pushbuttons and/or leading pedestrian interval timing updates. Crews are scheduled to begin at Seventh Street during the week of Feb. 17, and, when finished, shift over to Anderson Boulevard. Modifications are planned for each corner of both intersections.
Roadway signage has been posted along State Street alerting motorists of the upcoming work. The City expects State Street, Seventh Street, and Anderson Boulevard to remain open during the project, but there may be intermittent lane closures. Pedestrian access at the intersections may be limited when crews are on site.
The City has not received a full schedule from IDOT on when the improvements will be completed. The City will update this post if additional information is received from IDOT.
