[ARCHIVED] Recycle Your Old Holiday Lights In Geneva

Holiday Lights Recycling

Geneva residents who have old, broken, or unwanted strands of holiday lights can recycle them for free from Monday, Nov. 24, to Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, at three drop-off locations.

The City is collaborating with eWorks to offer this recycling opportunity. Holiday lights can be dropped off during normal business hours at:

  • Geneva City Hall, 22 S. First St.
  • Geneva Public Library, 227 S. Seventh St.
  • Geneva Park District Sunset Community Center, 710 Western Ave.

Residents can recycle mini lights (or Italian lights), C7 & C9 lights, rope lights, LED strands, and extension cords. Garland, wreaths and outdoor display pieces containing lights will not be accepted.

More program information is available on the City’s website.
