[ARCHIVED] Students Can Apply To Serve On Advisory Boards

Flower State Street

The City of Geneva is seeking two high school student volunteers to join its Strategic Planning Advisory and Bike & Pedestrian committees.

The Strategic Plan Advisory Committee is charged with prioritizing community goals outlined in the City’s strategic plan, encouraging citizen input and assisting with goal implementation. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month.

The Bike & Pedestrian Committee provides input on the City’s bike plans; identifies key areas for bike and pedestrian improvements, coordinates bike/pedestrian safety education events; and seeks community feedback. Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month.

Students must live within the City of Geneva’s municipal boundary limits (see the City’s ward map). Ideal candidates would be current sophomores so they could serve multiple years as each committee’s student representative.

Students can submit a board volunteer application along with a letter of interest and resume, if possible. Students can state which committee they would like to represent on the application. The application deadline is Thursday, April 10.
