Geneva residents now have the option to dispose of their food scraps as part of Lakeshore Recycling's yard waste program with the City.
Permitted items should be mixed with traditional yard waste materials such as grass, leaves and branches in either a brown Kraft yard waste bag (with garbage sticker attached) or a Lakeshore Recycling yard waste cart that carries a monthly subscription fee.
The combined yard waste and food scraps will be delivered to an approved and permitted commercial compost processing facility.
