The City has rolled out new online content for residents wanting to learn more about the upcoming safety referendum in March 2026.
First is a new video (available to watch on YouTube) providing an overview on why the City is seeking voter approval to build a new police station. The video details the shortcomings of the current police station, the City's fiscal stewardship, funding, and more ... all in just two minutes of your time.
Next, the City launched the Let's Talk Geneva podcast on Spotify where the City's Strategic Plan Advisory Committee (SPAC) sits down with Geneva stakeholders to discuss issues impacting our community. Currently, SPAC is doing a deep dive on the referendum.
The first two episodes are available to the community:
- Episode 1 features Police Chief Eric Passarelli discussing the current building conditions at 20 Police Plaza.
- Episode 2 interviews Sgt. Mark Russo and Officer Brennan Mulroe, who detail how the current building impacts police operations and how a new facility could benefit the department.
Stay tuned for Episode 3, which should be dropping later this week, as SPAC sits down with the City architect to discuss a potential new police station for Geneva. The podcast series also is available on the City's referendum web page.
