Kudos To City Employees

Great Job

Public-sector employees seem to have a target on their backs these days. The "sound-bite" rhetoric downgrading the value of public workers seems pervasive and simply acceptable in our current political culture.

Although compliments are rare, we do see more than most due to the quality of the workforce at the City of Geneva. Sometimes our work is very visible with our police, fire and public works employees out in the community. But many times, it is the behind-the-scenes efforts from our City staff that also deserves recognition.

Check out some of the recent feedback we have received from the community for a job well done.

Public Works - Blizzard Response

About 8 inches of heavy, wet snow fell on Geneva Nov. 25-26 that required around-the-clock plow coverage and power restoration from the Public Works Department.

My father is suffering with cancer, and we are not sure how much longer we will have him so we are getting things in order.

Fire Department - Visiting Trick-Or-Treaters

Geneva firefighters, including Chief Mike Antenore (pictured above) greeted children trick-or-treating throughout the City on Halloween. We received many happy responses from parents via the City's Facebook page for bringing smiles to children's faces that night.
