Upon receipt of a written complaint alleging an ethics violation, the City of Geneva's Ethics Commission is tasked with investigating, conducting hearings and deliberations, and issuing recommendations for disciplinary actions.
The commission, which is comprised of three members, meets on an as-needed basis. No person shall be appointed as a commission member who is related by blood or by marriage, up to the degree of a first cousin, to any elected official or City of Geneva employee.
The Geneva City Code provides in-depth detail on the Ethics Commission's duties, rules, complaint procedures, and penalties.
If the commission is scheduled to hold a meeting, visit the City's Agenda Center to find the latest agenda posted under the "Miscellaneous" category.
